Kabinett beschließt vorgezogene Wohngelderhöhung. Die Wohngeldanhebung bis zu 70% ist für das Jahr 2009 geplant.
Das Kabinett hat den von Bundesbauminister Wolfgang Tiefensee vorgelegten Entwurf zur Vorziehung der Wohngelderhöhung vom 1. Januar auf den 1. Oktober in Form einer Einmalzahlung beschlossen.
“So wird die gesamte Heizperiode dieses Winters in den neuen Wohngeldregelungen berücksichtigt. Damit entlasten wir die Menschen mit niedrigem Einkommen von den stark gestiegenen Energiepreisen”.
Derzeit sind es rund 600.000 Haushalte betrofen. Durch die Wohngeldnovelle werden 2009 rund 800.000 Haushalte wohngeldberechtigt. Voraussetzung für die Zahlung des einmaligen zusätzlichen Wohngeldbetrages ist, dass für mindestens einen der Monate Oktober 2008 bis März 2009 Wohngeld bewilligt worden ist. Ein Antrag ist nicht erforderlich. Die Einmalzahlung ist nach der Haushaltsgröße gestaffelt. Ein Einpersonenhaushalt erhält beispielsweise 100 Euro, ein Zweipersonenhaushalt zusammen 130 Euro.
Die vorgezogene Erhöhung kostet zusätzlich 120 Millionen Euro. Bund und Länder teilen sich die Kosten. Dem Beschluss müssen jetzt noch die Länder zustimmen. Der Bundesrat berät im Dezember.
